The essence of Casa Antigua served as the inspiration for the development of the creative concept for one of the oldest houses in Ensenada. La Casa Antigua must communicate its meaning; for this, we thought that the word “casa“ (“house“) should be interpreted not as a physical space, but instead as a place where its unique qualities intersect: Ensenada as a home, a meeting place, and the experience of having a conversation around cups of coffee. Under this combined aesthetic, we used minimal elements for the original branding, a style derived from the years that the café was occupied as a “house“. We used the 1940s as a point of reference.

-Carlos Carpintero, Dictadura del diseño. (Design Dictatorship)
“To design means to know and venture to the ends of culture in order to recreate it, turning it into something even more dynamic. This task commits you to another, bringing you closer to the confines of art and inserting you into the process of human communication. Thus, designing implies a profound responsibility and takes part in an increasingly muddled and chaotic reality.”
