La Pacífico Norte

The fishing communities in the region known as the North Pacific are located on the western shore of the El Vizcaíno Desert, in the middle of the Baja Peninsula in the city of Mulegé, Baja California Sur. These fishing communities are Bahía Tortugas, Bahía Asunción, La Bocana, Punta Abreojos, and various fishing camps. The North Pacific has been historically isolated because of how difficult it is to travel across the desert and sea. To the north is Bahía Vizcaíno, to the west the Pacific Ocean, and to the south the coastal oasis San Ignacio. This project was created with the intention to communicate the situation of this region, reaching out to these communities to pass the legacy of the North Pacific on to new generations and to lay the foundation for the future.
